What we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us.
- Contact form. Your name and email address, and optionally your company and phone number.
- Code & Cadence sign-ups. If you sign up to Code & Cadence, our insight publication, your name and email address and any preferences you share with us.
- Email and WhatsApp. Your contact details and anything you include in your message if you contact us directly.
- Technical information. Our hosting provider automatically processes your IP address and basic browser information to deliver the website and protect it from abuse.
This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers.
How we use it and why
- Responding to your enquiry and following up on it. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, or taking steps at your request before entering into an engagement.
- Sending you Code & Cadence, our insight on technology markets, capital and transactions, along with related updates and invitations. We only do this if you have signed up. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing or emailing us.
- Keeping the website secure and working, based on our legitimate interest in protecting our systems.
- Meeting legal and regulatory obligations where they apply.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf and only under our instructions.
- Web3Forms, which delivers contact form submissions to our inbox.
- Google Workspace, which provides our email and document storage.
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website and protects it from attacks.
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to message us there.
We may also share information with professional advisers, or where the law requires us to.
International transfers
Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as an adequacy decision or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
If your enquiry leads to an ongoing relationship, we keep your information for as long as that relationship lasts and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal and regulatory requirements. If it does not, we delete your enquiry within 24 months of our last contact. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
If you sign up to Code & Cadence, we keep your details until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only your email address on a suppression list, so we do not contact you again by mistake.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to
- access the personal information we hold about you
- have inaccurate information corrected
- have your information deleted
- restrict or object to how we use it
- receive your information in a portable format
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it.
To use any of these rights, email hello@corehelm.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first, so please contact us before you do.
